Founded in 1856 by Louise Cordier , a figure of Bordeaux, the estate has stood the test of time by preserving its know-how while evolving towards modern and committed viticulture. Today, a new passionate team is perpetuating this tradition with rigor and respect for the terroir.
Azay-le-Rideau: The Land of Chenin Blanc
The estate is based on a unique terroir with clay-siliceous soils , characteristic of the banks of the Indre. This light and draining soil, combined with a temperate climate, offers ideal conditions for Chenin Blanc , the emblematic grape variety of the Loire Valley.
The Touraine Azay-le-Rideau appellation is above all an essential destination for lovers of fine and balanced wines. Located in the heart of the Loire Valley, it is distinguished by a varied production, but with a specialty for its white wines, which represent the quintessence of its terroir . These wines offer a beautiful freshness, a great aromatic complexity and notes of fresh fruit, sometimes embellished with floral touches. Minerality is often present, bringing to these whites a perfect balance between roundness and liveliness.
Chenin Blanc expresses itself with freshness and elegance, also giving rise to Crémants de Loire of great finesse, produced using the traditional method .
Chinon: The Balance of Cabernet Franc
Our plots in the Chinon appellation, located on the banks of the Loire, benefit from a terroir mixing gravel, sand and clay , promoting excellent drainage and optimal maturity of the Cabernet Franc . This soil gives our red wines a beautiful tannic structure., deliciousness and a great aromatic expression, between crunchy red fruits and subtle spices.
In respect of these exceptional terroirs, we practice sustainable viticulture , limiting inputs and promoting environmentally friendly practices.
